Mayor Domenic J. Sarno states, "With the recent unfortunate and tragic events that occurred in Lawrence, Andover, and North Andover, I have directed City officials led by Department of Public Works Director Chris Cignoli, Springfield Fire Department Commissioner B.J. Calvi, and Executive Director of Parks, Buildings and Recreation Management Patrick Sullivan to reach out to Columbia Gas officials to schedule, at the appropriate time, a meeting with all of us to reassure our Springfield residents and business community of their continued maintenance efforts to keep us all safe here in Springfield. Also, I have reached out to my friend Lawrence Mayor Dan Rivera, not only with thoughts, prayers of encouragement to both he and his residents, but also for any assistance that he may need too."
