35th Annual National Night Out Against Crime and Violence

Wednesday, August 1, 2018

On Tuesday, August 7, 2018 throughout the City of Springfield, citizens, community groups, law enforcement agencies, business, state and local officials will join over 38 million people in more than 16 thousand communities nationwide to celebrate the 35th Annual National Night Out.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. Together, we are making that happen.

The City of Springfield is celebrating by hosting a series of events supported by the Springfield Police Department, the Mayor’s Office, Springfield Fire Department, the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department, and neighborhood councils.

“This is our continued C3 Policing model – a collaboration of law enforcement and neighborhoods working together as one to make a better Springfield,” said Mayor Domenic J. Sarno.

“The Springfield Police Department needs neighbors working together and with our officers in order to address crime and quality of life issues in our fine city. By working together, we have impacted both crime and quality of life issues, making our city safer and a better place to live, work or operate a business. Please help us celebrate and strengthen our community relationships by attending your local National Night Out event,” said Police Commissioner John Barbieri.

Below is a list of National Night Out events happening on August 7st – all free to the public.
