Mayor Sarno and City Officials Look Forward to Springfield T-Birds Playoff Games Next Week
Mayor Domenic J. Sarno was thrilled to receive a visit from Frank Grimaldi of the Springfield Thunderbirds yesterday, as the T-Birds get ready for Round 2 of the Calder Cup Playoffs next week. Mayor Sarno purchased his play-off tickets and is looking forward to cheering on the Thunderbirds as they take the ice at home at the MassMutual Center.
Mayor Sarno stated, “I am so proud to root for our Springfield Thunderbirds as they make another Calder Cup run. There’s excitement in the air and we are ready to support our T-Birds. Fire Commissioner Calvi told me that, ‘the T-Birds are so blazing hot, not even he can put their fire out!’ And Police Superintendent Clapprood has put out a ‘BOLO (Be On the Look Out) for the hottest team in the AHL’ – our Springfield T-Birds.
