Officers with the Springfield Police Department joined with Springfield Together, Strong Young Minds, City Connect, the Law Offices of Dunn and Phillips, the Springfield Public Schools, the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department and Walmart for a special ‘Shop with a Cop’ event Wednesday night at Walmart on Boston Road.

Nearly 30 students and their families took part with our Springfield Police Officers where they picked out Christmas presents for themselves and their families.

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno states, “Police Commissioner Cheryl Clapprood and I cannot thank you all of our local partners enough for their continued outreach and heartfelt initiatives to bring joy and cheer to our children and their families during this holiday season.  These types of youth development events continue to enhance building even stronger police/community relationships.  Special thanks to all of our partners and sponsors including Springfield Together, Strong Young Minds, Elks Lodge #61, Dunn and Phillips, Walmart and Sheriff Nick Cocchi for their continued efforts and generosity.  It is greatly appreciated by all.”
