Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Deputy Police Chief William Cochrane joined with 413 Café owner Christina Raschi for a celebration in honor of Officer Troy Hufnagel’s retirement from the Springfield Police Department. The celebration was hosted by 413 Café, located on Market Street in downtown Springfield, to offer a special thank you to Officer Hufnagel for his brave and dedicated service to our Springfield.
Mayor Sarno stated, “Though I know Officer Hufnagel is not normally one to make a big to-do, I am so happy we were all able to come together to recognize Troy for serving our Springfield for so many years with the utmost professionalism and compassion. Thank you, Christina Raschi and the 413 Café for hosting this celebration. Officer Hufnagel has touched many lives during his career and we are forever grateful for his brave and dedicated service.”
Many of Officer Hufnagel’s fellow officers, as well as his brother retired police Captain Trent Hufnagel, were in attendance to celebrate Troy, who is retiring from the Springfield Police’s Metro Unit after twenty-seven years of service. Mayor Sarno presented a proclamation declaring today “Troy Hufnagel Day” in the City of Springfield and thanking Troy for his brave dedicated service to our Springfield. Deputy Chief William Cochrane spoke on behalf of Police Commissioner Cheryl Clapprood. City Councilors Victor Davila and Kateri Walsh also presented Officer Hufnagel with a proclamation.
