Musical performers from the Community Music School of Springfield provided the entertainment.
Mayor Sarno states, “These decorative lights will help beautify the City and have become popular with our residents and business community. We had previously installed decorative lights over Worthington Street, Fort Street and this expansion onto this section of Main Street will liven up the surrounding night life, amenities and restaurants. I want to thank everyone involved in making this initiative possible, especially Deputy Director of Economic Development Brian Connors who worked to secure this state grand funding. I am hopeful that we can continue to expand this great initiative and add additional decorative lightings at other locations in the future.”
The decorative lights over Main Street, which were installed by Springfield Electric Co., is part of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation Share Streets and Spaces Program.
