Mayor Sarno states, "To keep our residents and business community informed, we have updated our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) that were previously released at the beginning of the project to help answer any questions or concerns. I want to thank Director of Disaster Recovery Tina Quagliato Sullivan, Director of Capital Asset Construction Peter Garvey and Director of Parks, Buildings and Recreation Management Patrick Sullivan for their continued efforts on this project and keeping everyone informed."
The City has contracted with Arment Trucking, Inc., of Springfield, MA to perform bulk cleanup around Watershop’s Pond. This cleanup will continue through the month of September. Bulk items include things like tires, auto parts, mattresses, construction materials, etc. Residents that are aware of bulk items in the pond should report their location to Tina Quagliato Sullivan at tquagliato@springfieldcityhall.com.
Residents should not attempt to remove large bulk items from the muddy areas around the pond themselves, as this can be hazardous.
The City continues to maintain a public project website where project updates and photos are regularly posted to update the public at https://www.springfield-ma.gov/planning/index.php?id=634 This website will be maintained for the duration of the project to keep the public informed and we encourage residents to check back frequently. Residents can continue to email questions or concerns about the project to tquagliato@springfieldcityhall.com
