The City if Springfield urges residents to drive safely, avoid driving through standing water, be prepared for power outages (charge cell phones and other devices), help keep storm drains clear, call 911 to report down power lines - do not approach or try to move them, do not run generators inside your home, keep refrigerator closed if power goes out to keep food fresh (if in doubt throw it out), keep pets inside, secure loose outdoor items, and check on your neighbors.
