Mayor Sarno and CDO Sheehan Meet with Council President Williams and Councilor Curran to Discuss State-of-the-Art Youth Multi-Sports Complex

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Chief Development Officer (CDO) Tim Sheehan met with City Council President Marcus Williams and Councilor Attorney Sean Curran to continue the discussion on creating a state-of-the-art youth multi-sports complex at our Riverfront Park.  This facility would continue to build upon the administrations recent developments along our Riverfront Park and downtown area.  Also in the meeting were Mayoral Aide Lavar Click-Bruce and Senior Program Manager Patrice ‘Chae’ Swan.   

Mayor Sarno states, “I want to thank Council President Marcus Williams and Councilor Sean Curran for meeting with myself, CDO Tim Sheehan, Coach Click and Chae Swan on the potential of utilizing our Riverfront Park with a state-of-the-art youth multi-sports complex that would not only benefit our residents but enhance our downtown and riverfront districts while focusing on attracting major events and noteworthy organizations that would confirm Springfield as a ‘Hoop City’ with a ‘Court of Dreams” that would draw thousands of visitors to our city and compliment the nearby Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.”
