Mayor Sarno and HHS Commissioner Caulton-Harris Hold Vax Force Committee Meeting

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno joined with Health and Human Services (HHS) Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris and the Springfield Vax Force Committee to continue the discussion on the City’s ongoing efforts to provide the COVID-19 vaccination to our residents.

Mayor Sarno stated, “I want to thank all the members of our Vax Force Committee for their continued dedicated efforts, especially Kassandra Jean-Marie on giving a wonderful presentation to the group.  Thanks to their efforts we continue to work together with our community stakeholders and strategically roll out our vaccination initiatives aimed at our younger population and those who may be hesitant to get their vaccination shot.  HHS Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris and I will continue to support our efforts in making the COVID-19 vaccine readily available for everyone throughout our City.”

The Vax Force continues to implement various outreach initiatives aimed at reaching our younger populations and people of color who may be hesitant to receive the vaccination through PSA and direct outreach efforts within the community.  The City of Springfield’s Health and Human Services Department and the Vax Force Committee continue to partner with BHN, Baystate Health, and New North Citizens Council, just to name a few, to help with providing direct strategic outreach efforts at upcoming events.
