Mayor Sarno Joined School Committeewoman Naylor, Parent Villages and Waterford.org in Support of Summer Learning Program

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno joined with School Committeewoman and President, CEO, and Co-Founder of Parent Villages LaTonia Monroe Naylor, and members of Parent Villages and Waterford.org on the front steps of City Hall to show their support for free at-home Summer Learning Program that will support up to 750 families in the region as our children prepare for their first day of school this coming fall, post-pandemic.

The partnership between Parent Villages and Waterford.org will support up to 750 families in the region to address kindergarten preparedness over the summer to help get our children ready for back to school in the Fall.  

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno states, “I want to acknowledge and thank School Committeewoman LaTonia Monroe Naylor and the team at Parent Villages and Waterford for their compassion and support of our families and children.  This summer learning program will help our families keep our children on track during the summer so that they are ready for their first day of school – at no cost to families.  Such a great and heartfelt initiative to keep our precious children’s education on target and getting them ready to succeed.”  

In attendance were City Councilor Malo Brown, State Representative Jacob Oliveira, Ayanna Crawford representing the office of State Representative Orlando Ramos, Assistance Superintendent of Schools Lydia Martinez, Parent Villages Regional Director Tiffany Rufino, and Waterford.org VP of Partnerships Katie Bradford.

Families, educators, and organizations who would like to learn more about how to enroll students in this program should go to www.parentvillages.org to register for info sessions that will be held virtually on Thursday, May 13th at 11:00am and Tuesday, May 18th at 3:00pm.
