Mayor Sarno and HHS Commissioner Caulton-Harris Joined with Congressman Neal at Caring Health Center’s New Vaccination Site

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Health and Human Services (HHS) Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris joined with Congressman Richard E. Neal at the Caring Health Center’s new vaccination site at 473 Sumner Ave. Caring Health Center President and CEO Tania Barber welcomed everyone and kicked off the press conference thanking the Congressman for his leadership in helping to pass the American Rescue Plan. State Senator Adam Gomez and State Representative Carlos Gonzalez were also present.

The Caring Health Center is one of only 250 Community Health Centers chosen to participate in the initial round of federal Health Center COVID-19 Vaccine Program through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).  The Army National Guard are on hand to help administer the COVID-19 vaccine at the Caring Health Center’s Sumner Ave location.  Those eligible can make an appointment by calling (413) 739-1100 ext. 2508 or (413) 696-1015.  Vaccination hours are Monday through Wednesday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Mayor Sarno stated, “I want to thank Caring Health Center President and CEO Tania Barber for setting up this neighborhood vaccine site.  HHS Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris and I have continued to advocate to the state and the federal government for standing up these neighborhood vaccine sites across our city to reach all of our eligible residents.  This is yet another local neighborhood vaccination site for our community thanks to everyone’s hard work, especially thanks to the efforts and leadership of Congressman Richard Neal who was able to secure much-needed federal funding.”
