Mayor Sarno Cheers on High School of Commerce and Roger L. Putnam Vocational Technical Academy Football Teams

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno attended and cheered on our High School of Commerce and the Roger L. Putnam Vocational Technical Academy football teams as they played for the Mayors Cup Trophy. The game was played at the football field at Central High School.

Mayor Sarno stated, “First off, I want to congratulate our student-athletes, coaches, teachers, staff, and their families at both schools for their patience and hard work both on and off the field.  Special shout out to Coach Harrison of the High School of Commerce and Coach Torres of Putnam Vocational for leading their teams to this Mayors Cup Trophy game.  Both teams and their families and supporters had a mountain to climb and difficult decisions to make during this COVID-19 pandemic.  I know it wasn’t always easy but I am proud of each and every one of you for pressing forward.  We could not have done this without your support, patience and understandings as we collectively navigated the surreal and challenging events of this pandemic.  Congratulations and again – Thank you!”
