City of Springfield to Reopen Cyr Arena - With Restrictions

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Executive Director of Parks, Buildings and Recreational Management (PBRM) Patrick Sullivan in consultation with Health and Human Services (HHS) Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris and adhering to the City’s and the Commonwealth’s public health and safety measures, announced that the City of Springfield will reopen the Cyr Arena Saturday, February 13, 2021, but with restrictions.

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno stated, “On the recommendation of Director Patrick Sullivan and Health and Human Services Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris, and after consulting and reviewing the Commonwealth’s workplace safety and reopening standards for businesses and other entities providing youth and adult amateur sports activities of Phase III Step 1, which took effect on February 8, 2021.  The City of Springfield will be reopening the Cyr Arena but with restrictions.  Those planning to utilize Cyr Arena will have to follow and adhere to all of the regulations and safety protocols set forth by our Parks and Health Departments and those rules established by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs reopening standards for youth and adult amateur sports activities.”       

The City of Springfield continues to stress the importance for all residents to practice healthy hygiene and to follow and adhere to all public health and safety protocols and measures.
