Mayor Sarno, Superintendent Warwick and SPS Officials Thank Eastman Chemical Company for Donating over 1,000 Lap-Desks for SPS Students

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Superintendent Daniel Warwick joined with Assistant Superintendent Lydia Martinez, Elias Brookings Elementary School Adjustment Counselor Gianna Allentuck, and Eastman Site Manager Shawn Pace at Roger L. Putnam Vocational Technical Academy to thank Eastman Chemical Company for their generous donation of over 1,000 custom lap-desks for our Springfield Public Schools (SPS) students. These lap-desks were designed specifically for SPS students as they continue with remote learning and made right here in Springfield.

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno stated, “Once again our friends at Eastman have stepped up to the plate to help our community.  I am deeply appreciative and thankful to Eastman Corp. site manager Shawn Pace and his leadership team for their generosity and compassion as we continue to work together to mitigate and defeat this COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.  These desks will go a long way in helping our students and families.  I also want to thank Gianna Allentuck for her continued and unyielding efforts on behalf of our students.  Superintendent Warwick and I are truly thankful to Shawn Pace and his team at Eastman for their continued commitment to our Springfield community.”
