Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Health & Human Services Commissioner Helen Caulton-Harris continue to meet with members of the Springfield Information Vax Force Committee (“Vax Force”). Today, the third Vax Force meeting was held to continue implementing the five phase strategy for providing vaccine education and communication.
The Vax Force is comprised of 15 committee members offering expertise in the areas of health clinician data and information, research, education, faith, and diversity, equity and inclusion.
Mayor Sarno stated, “I am deeply appreciative of this Committee and the important work they are doing to prepare our residents and community to receive the COVID-19 vaccination. There are a number frustrations and challenges, as well as misinformation, facing our residents who want to be vaccinated. We will continue to work through these challenges as we support the existing state-run mass vaccination site and prepare for when we receive our own vaccine supply and can offer more direct access within our neighborhoods with smaller, city-run vaccination sites.”
