City of Springfield, Springfield Public Schools and Sodexo Celebrated One Millionth Meal Provided in Response to the Coronavirus Pandemic

Mayor Domenic Sarno, Superintendent Daniel Warwick, and Sodexo, the Springfield Public Schools food service provider, marked the serving of the 1,000,000th meal provided to Springfield and area students in response the COVID-19 related-school closure that began on March 12th with a celebration at Boland Elementary School on Armory Street today.

Mayor Domenic J. Sarno stated, “I am so proud of our Springfield Public Schools system, the leadership of Superintendent Dan Warwick and his administration, and our partnership with Sodexo, who time and again have stepped up for our residents and families during these challenging times, much like they did during the tornado.  This is a huge milestone and achievement, not just for our Springfield students but for the children from the surrounding communities too.  One million meals served and still counting!  God Bless our students and their families and God Bless our City of Springfield.”
