THREE HISTORIC HOMES OFFERED FOR SALE

April 12, 2012 - The City of Springfield has issued Requests for Proposals for purchase and redevelopment of three historic homes in the City’s McKnight area.

“The Law Department has been diligently pursing tax delinquent owners of blighting buildings,” said Mayor Domenic J. Sarno. “We are now looking for redevelopment proposals on three Victorian homes in the McKnight neighborhood. The City is most interested in proposals where the end use is an owner-occupied home.”

The properties are 62 Bay Street, 90 Buckingham Street, and 74 Yale Street. Each is being offered for a minimum price of one thousand dollars, and each has $25,000 of Community Development Block Grant assistance available for exterior restoration.

  • Open houses for 62 Bay Street are April 17th at 3:00 P.M., April 30th at 1:00 P.M., and May 5th at 10:00 A.M. 
  • Open houses for 90 Buckingham Street are April 17th at 2:00 P.M., April 30th at 12:00 P.M., and May 5th at 12:00 P.M.
  • Open houses for 74 Yale Street are April 17th at 1:00 P.M., April 30th at 2:00 P.M., and May 5th at 11:00 A.M.

Proposals for all three houses will be due May 23, 2012, at 2:00 P.M. Request for Proposals packets can be obtained at no charge from the Office of Procurement, City Hall, 36 Court Street, Room 307 or printed online at www.comm-pass.com.
