Down Payment and Closing Cost Assistance
The City has depleted its' allocation of Down Payment Assistance funds for this Fiscal Year 2026. We will begin taking FY27 applications on June 15, 2026 for closings taking place in early to mid July, 2026. PLEASE NOTE: we will likely not have access to funds before 7/17/2026, and will be unable to assist buyers who close before that date.
The Down Payment and Closing Cost Assistance Program provides down payment and closing cost assistance of $7,500 for income-qualified first-time homebuyers purchasing a home in Springfield. The homebuyer must use the home as the primary place of residence. The home may be 1-4 units.
