Proof of Residency

An official Proof of Residency (POR) letter is a document that can be used to serve as proof of residency in the City of Springfield.
  • The POR letter is available to Springfield residents at a cost of $10.00.
  • The fee can be paid by check (payable to the City of Springfield) or cash.
  • The letter is an official document and carries the City of Springfield seal.
Note:   As of May 18th, 2015 the Registry of Motor Vehicles no longer accepts the yellow carbon copy of the in-office voter registration form as proof of residency.  A residency letter with a seal must be obtained in order to provide proof of residency to the RMV.
