An official Proof of Residency (POR) letter is a document that can be used to serve as proof of residency in the City of Springfield.
The POR letter is available to Springfield residents at a cost of $10.00.
The fee can be paid by check (payable to the City of Springfield) or cash.
The letter is an official document and carries the City of Springfield seal.
Note: As of March 26, 2018 the Registry of Motor Vehicles no longer accepts a proof of residency letter from the Board of Elections. Please refer to the list of accepted documents at the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles webpage www.mass.gov/guides/Massachusetts-identification-id-requirements.
