Can I add the trash fee payment to my bank’s existing real estate escrow account?

Unless liened, most mortgage holders or lending institutions are not be willing to account for such City charges along with the property taxes in escrow, because the trash fee is not a tax, and customarily not held in escrow by lenders.   

For now, you can pay the fee directly to the City Collector: in person by cash; in person or in the mail by check or money order; or online at www.springfieldcityhall.com.
