City of Springfield Permits & Inspections

The purpose of this guide is to summarize the various staff persons, departments and boards/commissions involved with the development and permitting process within the City of Springfield.  The development process requires a number of permits, approvals and/or licenses to be obtained for all development projects. If at any time, before and during your application process you may have questions, please do not hesitate to contact the appropriate staff person

Definitions

The terms herein defined shall be used to interpret all the applicable provisions of the Zoning Ordinance.

Words used in the present tense include the future; words used in the masculine gender include the feminine and neuter; and the singular number includes the plural and the singular. Where terms are not defined, they shall have their ordinarily accepted meanings or such as the context may imply.
