at which time the bids will be publicly open and read in the Office of Procurement.

The City of Springfield invites all interested, qualified persons or firms capable of providing the requested services, to submit bids to enter into an agreement to restore water access to Watershops Pond. This bid falls under M.G.L. Ch. 30§39M and other procurement statutes.

Work includes mechanical hydro raking for vegetation removal at the key water access locations. Estimated value of the contract is approximately $155,000.00. Bid documents can be requested through the City’s website; www.springfieldcityhall.com or in person at the Office of Procurement (during normal business hours) beginning on January 10, 2024.

It is strongly encouraged to attend a site visit on January 17, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Gunnery Sargent Sullivan Park across from 289 S Branch Pkwy, Springfield, MA 01118. All questions regarding this bid or its specifications must be made in writing and received by the Office of Procurement no later than January 19, 2024 by 4:30 P.M. (nwalker@springfieldcityhall.com) in order to be considered.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women (MWBE) participation in all contracts. Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety and Federal Davis-Bacon Prevailing Wage rates apply. The Chief Procurement Officer/Designee reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
