Bid documents will be available February 23, 2026 in person at the Office of Procurement or through the City’s website (www.springfield-ma.gov/finance/procurement).

Library Department is seeking responses from qualified bidders for security guard services at four (4) branch libraries. The Vendor for branch library guard services shall be for a one (1) year term commencing on May 1, 2026 through April 30, 2027, with options to renew for up to two years. This bid is subject to M.G.L. c.30B § 5. Estimated value of the contract is $160,000.00.


All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be in writing and received by the Office of Procurement no later than March 2, 2026 by 4:30 P.M. to Carol Teixeira-Dragon, Purchasing Agent at ct-dragon@springfieldcityhall.com . The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
