The City through its Department of Parks, Buildings & Recreation Management is seeking bids for improvements to Hiram L. Dorman Elementary School including earthwork, installation of owner-supplied playground equipment, engineered wood fiber safety surfacing, site restoration, and landscaping. Estimated cost of the project is Eighty Thousand Dollars ($80,000.00). This bid falls under M.G.L. Ch. 30§39M and other procurement statutes.
Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be received until 2:00 PM on October 4, 2023, publicly opened, forthwith online.
Site Visit: Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend a site visit at 20 Lydia Street, Springfield, MA 01109 scheduled for September 13, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. Contact: Anja Duffy, GZA, Inc; anjaduffy@gza.com with inquiries concerning the pre-bid site visit. This meeting will provide an opportunity for interested parties to inspect the site and all particulars and resolve questions regarding the scope of work, existing conditions and the specifications. Questions must be submitted in writing to the City (nwalker@springfieldcityhall.com) by close of business on September 27, 2023 in order to be considered.
Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available August 30, 2023 at www.biddocs.com (may be viewed electronically and downloaded at no cost) or hard copies may be purchased at Nashoba Blue, Inc. at 433 Main Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (978-568-1167).
The City of Springfield goal of twenty percent (20%) MWBE participation applies. Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety and Federal Davis-Bacon Prevailing Wage rates apply. The Chief Procurement Officer/Designee reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so.
