at which time the bids will be publicly open and read in the Office of Procurement.

The City of Springfield invites all interested, qualified persons or firms capable of providing the requested services, to submit bids to enter into an agreement to provide Abatement of VAT for Talmadge Elementary School, 1395 Allen St., Springfield, MA 01118. This bid falls under M.G.L. Ch. 149 and other procurement statutes.
Work includes, but is not limited to: Asbestos Abatement of flooring and associated materials including cove base as designated in the Contract Documents. All work shall be performed by a Massachusetts licensed Asbestos Abatement Contractor in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.
Estimated value of the contract is approximately $50,000.00. Bid documents can be requested through the City’s website; www.springfieldcityhall.com or in person at the Office of Procurement (during normal business hours) beginning on February 16, 2022.

There will be a MANDATORY SITE VISIT on February 24, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Talmadge Elementary School, 1395 Allen St., Springfield, MA 01118. All questions regarding this bid or its specifications must be made in writing and received by the Office of Procurement no later than February 25, 2022 by 4:30 P.M. (hbutton@springfieldcityhall.com) in order to be considered.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent (20%) MWBE participation applies. Massachusetts Prevailing Wage rates apply. The Chief Procurement Officer or designee reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
