at which time they will be publicly opened and read in the Office of Procurement Bid Room. Sealed bids from a Contractor are requested through the Office of Procurement. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 30 section 39M. The conditions of employment and wage rates, as set forth by the Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety shall prevail in the execution of the work under this contract.

Project Scope: The City of Springfield Department of Public Works is soliciting Unit Price Bid Proposals to perform annual maintenance services to the City’s Flood Protection System. The project consists of work along approximately three and a half miles of earthen dikes, concrete floodwalls, and pressure conduit. Tasks include, but are not limited to, mowing, brush cutting, herbicide applications, nuisance wildlife control and other miscellaneous repair and maintenance tasks. Estimated cost of the project: $700,000.

Bidders requesting Contract Documents to be mailed to them shall include a separate check for $40.00 per set for UPS Ground (or $65.00 per set for UPS overnight), payable to BidDocs ONLINE Inc. to cover mail handling costs.

All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be made in writing and received by the Office of Procurement (ehand@springfieldcityhall.com) by 7/25/19 at 4:30 P.M. The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
