Department of Parks, Buildings, and Recreation Management- Facilities Division

Sealed bids for a Prime Contractor contract are requested through the Office of Procurement. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 149 as amended and other applicable statutes.

Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be accepted at the Office of Procurement (Room 307 City Hall) until 2:00PM EST on May 3, 2019, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.

The Department of Parks, Buildings, and Recreation Management- Facilities Division is issuing this solicitation for flooring upgrades in the Commerce Middle School Middle. The existing VCT tile is failing and pulling up in various areas throughout the building. The Contractor should plan to hold a figure in their estimate to cover any extra patching or leveling compound required to ensure that the flooring is installed correctly and to industry standards.

Project is estimated not to exceed $75,000.00. An optional Site Visit has been scheduled for 4/17/19 at 9:00 A.M, on-site at the Commerce School, located at - 415 State St. Springfield MA. Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend the site visit. Contact Jon Carignan at (413) 787-6279.

Bid documents and specifications will be available at no charge beginning April 16, 2019, at the Office of Procurement from 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., or through the City’s website; www.springfieldcityhall.com. Please refer to the bid number and opening date when requesting.

Contractor must agree to pay MA Prevailing Wage rates whenever applicable. The City reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so. All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be made in writing and received by the Office of Procurement by April 26, 2019, 4:30 P.M. in order to be considered (contact; ttheocles@springfieldcityhall.com).
