Bid No. 19-131; Gym Floor Replacement at Freedman School
Department of Parks, Buildings, and Recreation Management- Facilities Division

Sealed bids for a Prime Contractor contract are requested through the Office of Procurement. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 149 as amended and other applicable statutes.

Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be accepted at the Office of Procurement (Room 307 City Hall) until 2:00PM EST on April 25, 2019, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.

Gym Floor Replacement at Freedman School. Project includes, but is not limited to the demolition of existing gym floor and associated flooring structures, installation of new flooring, and any associated work according to technical specifications. In general, the Contractor shall supply all labor, equipment, materials, temporary storage, facilities, tools, and other appliances necessary for the work in this section and as required to properly complete the project in accordance with these contract documents and good construction practice.

Project is estimated not to exceed $80,000.00. An optional Site Visit has been scheduled for 4/16/19 at 9:00 A.M, on-site at the Freedman School, 90 Cherokee Drive. Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend the site visit. Contact Jon Carignan at (413) 787-6279.

Bid documents and specifications will be available at no charge beginning April 10, 2019, at the Office of Procurement from 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., or through the City’s website; www.springfieldcityhall.com. Please refer to the bid number and opening date when requesting.

Contractor must agree to pay MA Prevailing Wage rates whenever applicable. The City reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so. All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be made in writing and received by the Office of Procurement by April 18, 2019, 4:30 P.M. in order to be considered (contact; ttheocles@springfieldcityhall.com).
