Invitation for Bids No. 19-030; On-Call Repair and Maintenance of Gym Equipment

at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read. Bid documents and specifications will be available at no charge beginning September 24, 2018, in person at the Office of Procurement from 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., or through the City’s website; www.springfieldcityhall.com. Please refer to the bid number and opening date when requesting. The services included in this bid will fall under M.G.L. Ch. 149 and other applicable procurement statutes.

The City is seeking bids from qualified firms to provide maintenance services for gymnasium equipment located in the Springfield Public Schools. Gymnasium equipment includes, but is not limited to the backstops, bleachers, wall pads, dividers, and basketball hoops. Contractor is to provide all materials and labor, including all properly trained and licensed staff, materials, and application implements on an on-call basis.

The City intends to award a contract to up to One (1) contractor that is the lowest responsible and eligible bidder(s). The estimated value of the contract is One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000.00) per year.

All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be received by the Office of Procurement (ttheocles@springfieldcityhall.com) by October 3, 2018 at 4:30 P.M. The City of Springfield goal of twenty (20%) MWBE participation applies. Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety Prevailing Wage rates apply. The Office of Procurement reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
