at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read. Bid documents and specifications will be available at no charge beginning May 10, 2018, at the Office of Procurement from 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., or through the City’s website; www.springfieldcityhall.com. Please refer to the bid number and opening date when requesting. The services included in this bid will fall under M.G.L. Ch. 149 and other applicable procurement statutes.

The City is seeking bids for qualified Contractors for abatement of 9”x9” VAT floor tiles in Duggan Middle School. The work under the contract consists of Asbestos Abatement of flooring and associated materials including cove base as designated in the Contract Documents. All work shall be performed by a Massachusetts licensed Asbestos Abatement Contractor in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.

The estimated value of the contract(s) shall not exceed $75,000.00 per year. The initial term of this contract will be for One (1) year, with no option to renew.

All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be received by the Office of Procurement by May 18, 2018 at 4:30 P.M. (ttheocles@springfieldcityhall.com). There will be an optional site visit at Duggan Middle School, 1015 Wilbraham Road on 5/17/18 at 2:30 P.M. The City of Springfield’s goal of twenty (20%) MWBE participation applies. Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety Prevailing Wage rates apply. The Office of Procurement reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
