Invitation for Bid (IFB) No. 18-158; Furnishing and Application of Hot Asphaltic Crack Filler (Polyester Fiber)

Sealed bids for a Prime Contractor contract are requested through the Office of Procurement. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 30 §39M as amended and other applicable statutes. In order for a bid to be deemed valid, the Contractor must be prequalified by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation in the specific class of work with a single contract limit at or above the dollar value of the project.
Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be accepted at the Office of Procurement (Room 307 City Hall) until 2:00PM on May 31, 2018, at which time they will be publicly opened and read in the Office of Procurement Bid Room.
Project Scope: The work shall include the cleaning and sealing of construction and random cracks in bituminous concrete pavement, vegetation removal and sterilization of cracks and associated work on various public streets. Estimated cost of the project is $150,000.00.
Plans and specifications can be picked up in person at the Office of Procurement during normal business hours or through the City’s website (www.springfieldcityhall.com) for no charge beginning May 9, 2018.
All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be made in writing and received by the Office of Procurement (ttheocles@springfieldcityhall.com) by 5/24/18 at 4:30 P.M. The City of Springfield goal of twenty (20%) MWBE participation applies. Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety Prevailing Wage rates apply to the scope of services. The City reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
