Department of Capital Asset Construction
Sealed bids for a Prime Contractor contract and Filed Sub-Bid contracts are requested through the Office of Procurement. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 149 as amended and other applicable statutes. Chapter 149 requires that the Prime/General Contractor be certified by the State Division of Capital Asset Management in the category, “General Contractor.”
Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be accepted at the Office of Procurement (Room 307 City Hall) until 2:00PM on October 27, 2017, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.
Sub Bids will be accepted at the Office of Procurement (Room 307 City Hall) until 12:00PM on October 11, 2017, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.
Renovation of Riverfront Police Kiosk. The City of Springfield is seeking bids for Renovation and small addition to existing ticket booth and toilet building. Project includes: Masonry, carpentry, install fiberglass columns and trim, re -roofing, electrical, plumbing, excavation for new addition and new water/sewer line. Estimated cost of the project is $250,000.00. Bidders will be required to pay Prevailing Wages whenever applicable.
Site Visit: Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend a site visit scheduled for 9/26/17 at 9:00 A.M. on site at the Riverfront area. Contact: Steven Jablonksi (413) 747-5285 with inquiries concerning the pre-bid site visit.
Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available for pick-up at www.biddocsonline.com on September 20, 2017 (may be viewed electronically and hard copy requested) or at Nashoba Blue, Inc. at 433 Main Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (978-568-1167).
Bidders requesting Contract Documents to be mailed to them shall include a separate check for $40.00 per set for UPS Ground (or $65.00 per set for UPS overnight), payable to BidDocs ONLINE Inc. to cover mail handling costs.
Questions must be submitted in writing and received by the Office of Procurement by 9/29/17 (FSB’s) or 10/6/17 (GC’s) in order to be considered. The City reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so.
