Department of Parks, Buildings, and Recreation Management- Facilities Division

Sealed bids for a Prime Contractor contract are requested through the Office of Procurement. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter30§39M as amended and other applicable statutes.

Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be accepted at the Office of Procurement (Room 307 City Hall) until 2:00PM on May 19, 2017, at which time they will be publicly opened and read. Estimated cost of the project is $50,000.00. Bidders will be required to pay Prevailing Wages whenever applicable.

The City of Springfield is seeking bids for the removal of existing Under Ground Storage Tank. Work will include, but not be limited to: Excavation, Site protection, Utilities Protection, cleaning, and disposal. The tank is a 10,000-gallon No. 2 fuel oil, presumed to be single-walled steel UST. The bottom of the UST is approximately 10.5 feet below grade.

Site Visit: Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend a site visit scheduled for May 4, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. on site at Glenwood School (51 Morrison Terrace). Contact: Matthew Dovell; 413-787-6582, with inquiries concerning the pre-bid site visit.

The IFB may be obtained beginning April 28, 2017 electronically by contacting Theo G. Theocles, Esq, Deputy Procurement Officer, via email at ttheocles@springfieldcityhall.com or through the City’s website; www.springfieldcityhall.com between the hours of 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M.

Questions must be submitted in writing to the City by 5/5/17 , 4:30 PM in order to be considered. The City reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so.
