Bid No. 17-123; Removal of TV’s at Four (4) City Schools

Department of Capital Asset Construction and the Department of Parks, Buildings, and Recreation Management- Facilities Division

Sealed bids for a Prime Contractor contract are requested through the Office of Procurement. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 149 as amended and other applicable statutes. The estimated value of the contract is not to exceed $25,000.00.

Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be accepted at the Office of Procurement (Room 307 City Hall) until 2:00PM on April 18, 2017, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.

The City is requesting the services of an outside Contractor to facilitate the removal and disposal of select larger antiquated televisions. These TVs are currently located in classrooms, gymnasiums, auditoriums, offices and other locations throughout the school. Most are mounted or hung from the walls of ceilings by some form of metal mounting device. The number of TV’s at each school is as follows: Chestnut Accelerated Middle – 80, Van Sickle Middle- 140, Central High School- 65, Sci-Tech High School- 85. Bidders will be required to pay Prevailing Wages whenever applicable.

Bid Forms and Contract Documents will be available for pick-up in person at the Office of Procurement or through the City’s website at www.springfieldcityhall.com for no charge beginning 3/31/17.

Al questions must be submitted in writing and sent to the Office of Procurement in order to be considered. All questions must be in writing and received by the Office of Procurement no later than 4/11/17 at 4:30 P.M. in order to be considered. The City reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so.

No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals.
