17-012 - Demolition/Deconstruction of 489 Hancock Street
End date: Wednesday July 20, 2016 at 2 p.m.General Bidders can request specifications bid package beginning on July 6, 2016 on the City’s website on the Procurement Department page at www.springfieldcityhall.com. at no charge, hard copies of specifications bid package may be obtained at the Office of Procurement, 36 Court Street, Room 307, Springfield, MA 01103, between the hours of 8:30 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., upon payment of a non-refundable deposit of $10.00 in the form of a certified treasurer’s or cashier’s check payable to the City of Springfield.
Please refer to the bid number and the opening date when inquiring. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 149 as amended and other applicable statutes and reflects the changes of Chapter 193 of the Acts of 2004 relative to M.G.L.c.23A &44 AND M.G.L. c. 7, and 44N.
The work to be performed under this contract consists of the demolition of a two story home with a basement. There are two separate sides of the structure. The building is constructed of wood framing with plaster walls with a masonry foundation, interior finishes include plaster, wood flooring, and various other floor sheeting materials. The Work under the Contract consists of removal of asbestos-containing materials, building demolition; utility disconnects and site restoration work as designated in the Contract Documents. The Project is estimated to cost $40,000. 00
Bids are subject to M.G.L. c.149 sec.44A (2) (B) and to minimum wage rates as required by M.G.L. c.l49 §§26 to 27H.
Site Visit: The site will be open for inspection on July 14, 2016 between the hours 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. The site visit will provide an opportunity for interested parties to inspect the site and all particulars and resolve questions regarding the scope of work, existing conditions and the specifications.
All questions regarding specifications must be submitted in writing, no later than July 14, 2015 by close of business. Questions must be submitted to the attention of Lauren Stabilo, Chief Procurement Officer (lstabilo@springfieldcityhall.com) and tquagliato@springfieldcityhall.com .
The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to reject any or all responses, if in the public interest to do so.
