at which time the proposals will be publically opened and read at the Office of Procurement.

The City of Springfield invites all interested, qualified persons or firms capable of providing the requested goods, to submit bids for the purchase of a Backhoe Loader. This IFB is subject to M.G.L. c. 30B and other applicable statutes.
The City will award one Contractor to the Vendor that provides the lowest cost of the item to the City. Bid documents can be requested through the City’s website; www.springfieldcityhall.com or in person (during normal business hours) beginning on April 14, 2016.
The equipment will be used by the Roger L. Putnam Vocational Technical Academy and will be delivered to that location at the time of purchase and contract execution. Engine must be minimum 4 CYL turbocharged diesel engine built and designed by the manufacturer and must be a new, unused piece of equipment, or have few than Twenty Five existing machine hours at the time of delivery. Estimated cost of the equipment is not to exceed $110,500.00, including delivery and warranty period of 1 year (minimum).

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women (MWBE) participation in all contracts. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all proposals if it is in the public interest to do so.

All questions regarding the IFB or its specifications must be received by the Office of Procurement on or before April 21, 2016 by 4:00 PM in order to be considered.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
