Invitation for Bids No. 16-145; Services: General and Emergency Boiler Repairs and Maintenance

at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read. Bid documents and specifications will be available at no charge beginning March 3, 2016, at the Office of Procurement from 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., or through the City's website; www.springfieldcityhall.com. Please refer to the bid number and opening date when requesting.

The Department of Parks, Buildings & Recreation Management, Facilities Division, is seeking Contractors to perform On-Call and Scheduled Repairs and Maintenance for Boilers located in City Buildings. Work will consist of preventative maintenance and occasional repairs on an as-needed basis. A Massachusetts DCAM Certificate is required for all bidders.

The City intends to award up to Three (3) Contracts to the Contractor(s) that are the lowest responsible and eligible bidder(s). The estimated value of the contract(s) is $750,000.00 per year. The initial term of this contract will be for One (1) year. The bid is governed by Massachusetts General Laws (MGL) Ch. 149 and other procurement statutes.

All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be received by the Office of Procurement by March 10, 2016 at 4:30 P.M. The City of Springfield goal of twenty (20%) MWBE participation applies. Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety Prevailing Wage rates may apply.

The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
