Collection Trucks: It is the intent of these specifications to describe a complete cab, chassis, drive train and body specifically designed for refuse collection service. The following minimum specifications are considered necessary to perform the work required. The City is seeking a complete vehicle that will require low maintenance. The vehicle will be durable enough to withstand the varying weather conditions that occur in New England. Delivery of these vehicles is critical. For that reason, we have included a penalty clause for late delivery.

Pick Up Trucks: The purpose and intent of this specification is to describe and obtain two (2) 4 wheel drive, single rear wheel pickup truck(s) GM 2500 HD or equal, with a minimum GVW of 9,200 lbs including plow and mounting as described in this specification. The unit(s) will be used by the Public Works Solid Waste Division for snow / ice control and daily operations.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
