Bid No. 16-019 Installation of Gerena Switch Gear and Associated Labor

Department of Parks, Buildings, and Recreation Management- Facilities Division

Sealed bids for a Prime Contractor contract are requested through the Office of Procurement. Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 149 as amended and other applicable statutes. Contractors must be DCAM certified in the following categories: Electric.

Bids for Prime/General Contractor will be accepted at the Office of Procurement (Room 307 City Hall) until 2:00PM on August 11, 2015, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.

The City of Springfield is seeking bids for from qualified contractors/suppliers of Eaton Corporation products for the Installation of (2) transformer fans, Installation of a new base model DS416 circuit breaker, Installation of Class 1 reconditioning on a DPA-G-N22 DS415 circuit breaker and if below the original manufactures standard install replacement parts, Installation of a new IQ Analyzer, as well as investigate neutral and ground connections at the main door switchgear to the primary distribution panels. Lastly if any improper neutral or ground connections are found the vendor is to make necessary corrections if readily accessible. Work will be performed at the Gerena School, located at 200 Bernie Avenue, Springfield, MA, 01107

Estimated cost of the project is not to exceed $125, 000.00. Bidders will be required to pay Prevailing Wages or Davis Bacon rates whenever applicable.

Site Visit: Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend a site visit scheduled for July 29, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. at the Gerena School, 200 Bernie Avenue, Springfield, MA 01107.

Bidding Documents will be available for no charge at the Office of Procurement (36 Court Street, Room 307, Springfield, MA 01103) in person during normal business hours or through the City's website: www.springfieldcityhall.com beginning on July 23, 2015.

Al questions must be submitted in writing and received by the Office of Procurement (email: ttheocles@springfieldcityhall.com or fax (413) 787-6295) no later than August 4, 2015 before 4:30 P.M. The City reserves the right to waive any informality in, or to revoke, any or all bids, if in the public interest to do so.
