Bid documents and specifications will be available at no charge beginning August 7 at 9:00 AM, in person or by contacting the Office of Procurement during normal business hours. This procurement is subject to M.G.L. Chapter 30B, and will be conducted accordingly.

The City of Springfield, through the DPBRM, is soliciting bids for a vendor to provide labor and materials for tile and grout cleaning and restoration on Seven (7) City Schools. Contractors should consider the following services in their bid pricing; extraction of contaminates, odors, and mineralization from the tile and gout surfaces, bonding of a glazing compound to the existing gout, and the application of a protective shield to the entire floor surface.

The services will be performed at the following City schools:
1. Milton Bradley School (2186 Sq. Ft.), William DeBerry School (616 Sq. Ft.), Springfield Central High School (2401 Sq. Ft), Mary O Pottenger School (1492 Sq. Ft.), Springfield Public Day High School (995 Sq. Ft. ), South End Middle School (1719 Sq. Ft), Van Sickle Middle School (4100 Sq. Ft.)

The contract value is estimated to be Ninety Five Thousand Dollars ($95,000.00). All bidders are advised that the City of Springfield encourages the use of minority and women-owned business enterprises ("MWBE") and expects a good faith effort to comply with the City's goal of twenty (20%) percent MWBE participation.

All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be made in writing and received by the Office of Procurement at least seven business days prior to bid opening, or August 13, 2014. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
