Invitation for Bids: Purchase of Refuse Trucks

Bids will be received until 2:00 PM EST June 13, 2014

The City of Springfield Department of Public Works (DPW) is seeking to purchase Four (4) Heavy special purpose trucks to add to its fleet of Waste Disposal/Refuse Trucks.

Vehicles List: Rear Loader Refuse Trucks, Two (2) units, factory build cab over chassis with tandem rear axle and body. Also, Manual Automated Side Loader Refuse Collection trucks Two (2) units, Low Entry - cab forward chassis with Tandem Rear axle and Body. Estimated cost is $1,000,000.00 City is soliciting for a five (5) year lease/purchase agreement.

This bid will also contain a financing package for all trucks. After a bid award is made for the all vehicles/equipment the City is asking vendors to hold prices for sixty (60) in order for City to work on finalizing lease/financing paperwork.

Questions must be made in writing and must be submitted in wrting at least seven (7) days before the bid opening date in order to be answered. The Bid Opening date is June 13, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. EST, at which time the bids will be publicly reviewed in the Office of Procurement Bid Room. This bid is subject to M.G.L. c. 30B.

BIDS ARE DUE JUNE 6, 2014, AT 2:00 P.M. EST.

The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to accept any bid, to reject and/or all bids and to waive minor irregularities and/or formalities as it deems to be in the best interest of the City.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
