12-427 - Transportation Services: Camp Star
End date: Tuesday June 12, 2012 at 2 p.m.This bid invitation covers two sessions of Camp Star summer camp run by the Department of Parks, Buildings, and Recreation Management.
Daily pick up will be from various residential addresses in the City of Springfield and transport to the camp at 200 Trafton Road, Springfield, Massachusetts (rainy day site is Sci Tech High School at 1250 Roosevelt Avenue, Springfield, Massachusetts.
Drop off time is 10:00 am. And camp hours are from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Monday through Friday. Pick-up time from the camp is 3:00 pm. Drop-off is to the same residential addresses in Springfield from which the children were picked up.
Camp transport is from June 25 to July 13, 2012 (Session One) and; about July 16 to August 3, 2012 (Session Two).
Transport will also include certain additional transports such as one daytime field trip to Six Flags, Agawam, Massachusetts, one evening cook out, one day transport for camp show rehearsals at Central High, and an evening transport to Central High for a Camp Show.
The total number of children expected to be transported is about 120. It is usual for 1 - 3 children to need wheelchair transport. Transport is requested to be by Type A, Type 7D, and wheelchair vehicles.
The motor bus operator rate of pay per hour will be determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries of the Commonwealth. The conditions of employment and minimum wage rates shall prevail in the execution of the work under this Contract.

In order to provide prompt answers to questions, the Chief Procurement Officer requests that all Proposers submit written questions seven days prior to the IFB response deadline.
