11-312 - RFP: Management & Operation of Springfield Public Schools Food Service Program

The City of Springfield, acting through the Chief Procurement Officer of the City is issuing this Request for Proposals to Food Service Management companies who have an interest in providing the City's School Department with complete School Food Services.

The City hereby requests competitive sealed proposals in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 30B, § 6.

Requests to receive a copy of the RFP must be accompanied by a non-refundable deposit of $50.00 in the form of a certified or bank check made payable to the City of Springfield.

9:45 AM - Central High School kitchen/cafe
10:30 AM - Kennedy Middle School kitchen/cafe and commissary
11:15 AM - Sodexo Warehouse excluding office areas
12:00 PM - Liberty Elementary School (satellite location)
12:45 PM - Rebecca Johnson Elementary School kitchen/cafe and commissary
1:30 PM - Duggan Middle School drop off and review

The City is interested in receiving proposals from companies that have demonstrated experience by currently providing school food service management services.
Demonstration of the ability to successfully operate a program the approximate size,
scope and demographics of Springfield Public Schools by identifying two cities of similar
(20,000 plus students) enrollment size and scope of service currently operated by
Proposer's in at least two programs currently operating in the Northeast.

Vendors who request a clarification of the RFP requirements may submit written questions via email to the CPO, Lauren Stabilo at lstabilo@springfieldcityhall.com by close of business Wednesday, April 6, 2011. Written copies of all questions and answers will be provided to all vendors who have requested an RFP. Responses to questions submitted by vendors will be sent to all vendors no later than end-of-day Wednesday April 13, 2011.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. The CPO reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
