at which time the bids will be privately reviewed in the Office of Procurement Bid Room. Bid documents will be available May 24, 2010 at the Office of Procurement.

The City of Springfield, Massachusetts (\"City) acting through the Chief Procurement Officer and Emergency Medical Services Commission of the City invites qualified, ambulance services, licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, to submit written proposals to provide ambulance services for calls received by the 9-1-1 system within the City for a term of not more than three (3) years being a one (1) year term within the option to extend two terms, each term being one year. The successful Proposer shall provide ambulance service within the City of Springfield starting October 1, 2010.

It is essential that the City of Springfield have emergency ambulance service for residents and transients within the city. Therefore, the Request for Proposal process will enable the City to apply appropriate rating to those ambulance services. The fees charged to the consumer will be a factor in the evaluation of the proposals but not the sole basis for award.


All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be received by the Office of Procurement business no later than seven (7) (June 1, 2010) days prior to deadline for proposal submittals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
