10-318 - Services: Journeymen Electricians for DPBRM-Facilities Division and Various City Departments

End date: Friday January 22, 2010 at 2 p.m.

This bid intends to describe the need for Journeyman Electricians, who are licensed in the State of Massachusetts. The Vendors shall provide all materials and labor associated with repairs to electrical equipment, new installation of electrical devices and other electrical work, as needed, at various schools and public buildings, owned by the City of Springfield, under the supervision of the Department of Parks, Buildings & Recreation Management (D.P.B. & R.M.) - Facilities Division.

All bidders shall comply with M.G.L. Chapter 149. City of Springfield will award this contract to at least three separate vendors on an as needed basis. Vendors awarded will be those that offer the lowest hourly straight time rate to the City.

This Price Agreement's Base Term is for One Year with an estimated 3000 hours of intermittent r Service and an estimated value of $700,000 per year. The Agreement will have an option for the City to exercise two one-year contract renewals at the Base Term rates, which will commence, if elected, immediately upon the expiration of the Base One Year Term.

All Vendors shall comply with the Employment Requirements and the Minimum Prevailing Wage as set forth by the Massachusetts Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development Division of Occupational Safety and the Division of Capital and Asset Management for their trade.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
