57 - Services: Demolition of 206-208 Walnut Street

Plans and specifications are available weekdays, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. A non-refundable deposit of $10.00 in the form of a certified or bank check or to the order of "The City of Springfield, MA" is required. All inquiries should reference the bid number and the opening dates. Bids will be available at the Department of Purchase on Wednesday, September 3, 2008.

No interpretations of the meaning of the Specifications and Bid Package will be made by any bidder orally. Every request for such interpretation shall be in writing, addressed to Maria Lopez-Santiago, Chief Procurement Officer, 36 Court Street, Springfield, MA 01103, Phone (413)787-6290, FAX (413)787-6295 and, to be given consideration, must be received at least seven (7) days (September 11, 2008) prior to the date fixed for opening of the bids.

Bidding procedures are per Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 30 sec. 39M as amended, and other applicable statutes. Estimated cost of project is Thirty Five Thousand ($35,000.00) Dollars.

Site Visit
Site will be open and available for inspection on September 10, 2008 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Bidders may contact Mr. Steve Desilets, Building Department, at (413) 787-6031.

The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
