334 - IFB for Fleet Management, Preventive Maintenance and Repair of City Owned Vehicles and Equipment

The City of Springfield requests bids for FLEET MANAGEMENT, PREVENTIVE
MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS OF CITY OWNED VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT currently
owned by the City and purchased by the City during the term of this contract. The services shall consist
of furnishing all labor, parts (except those purchased and provided directly by the City) and equipment
required to maintain and repair the enclosed listing of City vehicles and equipment as directed by Repair
Work. Authorization(s) based upon the City\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s needs and emergencies that may arise. Vehicles under
the control of the Department of Public Works, School Department, Inspectional Services Department,
Emergency Management Department, and the Park and Facilities Department are included in this work.
All work shall be performed at the City Yard Repair Garage Facility. The City of Springfield currently
operates a fleet of approximately 600 vehicles and pieces of equipment. Estimated cost is $750,000.00 for the first year with the option to renew for two additional years.

It is the desire of the City to have the successful Proposer interview and hire as many of the current Department of Public Works employees as practicable.

A Pre-Proposal meeting will be held on May 13, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the Springfield Department of Public Works, 70 Tapley Street, Springfield, MA 01104. Contact: Mario Mazza at 413-750-2153.

Each Bid must be accompanied by a certified check, issued by a responsible bank or trust company, or a bid bond duly executed by the Bidder as principal and having as surety thereon with surety company approved by the City, all in the amount of 5% of the bid payable to the \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"City of Springfield.\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\"

The City of Springfield reserves the right to accept any bid, to reject and/or all bids and to waive minor irregularities and/or formalities as it deems to be in the best interest of the City.
