286 - Services: Demolition/Deconstruction of Various Abandoned Properties Throughout the City
End date: Thursday February 26, 2009 at 2 p.m.The City of Springfield is soliciting bids for the demolition of abandoned properties throughout the City of Springfield. The Work shall involve demolition and deconstruction of various sites to be identified at a future date during the contract period by the City of Springfield.
The Contract shall be a Unit Price Agreement with a "Not-To-Exceed Fixed Amount" of Seven Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($750.000.00). The Contract shall be awarded for a one year period and may include two (2) one-year extensions at the discretion of the City of Springfield. The City of Springfield reserves the right, prior to the contract award, to determine the length of the initial contract term and option for renew, if any.
The Contract may be assigned to more than one bidder solely at the discretion of the City of Springfield.
The Contractor shall be compensated for each completed site in accordance with the provisions outlined in the bid specifications and the agreed upon Unit Prices provided on the Bid Form of the Demolition/Deconstruction Price Agreement Contract.
Bidders may obtain a complete set of specifications and bid package at the office of the Department of Purchase, 36 Court Street, Room 405, Springfield, MA 01103, beginning on January 28, 2009 between the hours of 8:30 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., upon payment of a non-refundable deposit of $25.00 in the form of a certified treasurer's or cashier's check payable to the "City of Springfield, Purchasing Department".
On February 4, 2009 there will be a Pre-Bid Conference-2:00 P.M. at the Office of Housing, 1600 E. Columbus Avenue

Bid has been postponed and the new opening date will be Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. (EST).
The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women participation in all contracts. No questions will be answered unless received by the Chief Procurement Officer at least 7 days prior to the expiration of the time set for submitting bids or proposals. The Chief Procurement Officer reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so.
